July 2014 – Pr. Anthony’s

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

As I write this month’s article, our family is just days away from growing.  It is a time that produces excitement, anxiety, joy, nervousness, and happiness.  We are looking forward to our new addition, but we aren’t sure quite yet how the soon to be big brother will take the news.  We will know soon enough though.

I would like to thank you, Circle of Faith Parish, for giving me three weeks of leave after our new addition enters the world.  As many of you parents know, those first few days and weeks are incredibly important  for the parents and the new child.  I’m looking forward to spending some good quality time with our newborn while not having to worry about our parish and the ministry that we are doing in this place.   We have Pastor Eric and Carl working hard to continue serving you and the gospel throughout our area.

These three weeks of leave does not mean that I will just vanish for three weeks.  We will still be living in  Trimont and for 3 Sundays we (as a family) will be able to all worship together in one place.  We plan to jump around between Circle of Faith and Partners in Ministry.  Visitors will be welcomed at the parsonage after the baby is born as long as you call first 507-639-4861 or my cell phone 507-848-0017.

People take leave, people take vacations, but the church, the gospel and most importantly God does not take any time off.  It is perfectly acceptable to take time off, take a break once in a while (you deserve it!).  But don’t forget about your relationship with God and the relationship you have with your church.  If you plan to be gone during the summer, don’t forget to seek out a church to worship at while you are gone.  Pastor Eric, Carl or myself can assist you will finding a church when you are unable to come to St. Peter,  Trinity or Waverly.

As I said last month: God bless you in your summer journeys, travels and adventures!  And remember to  take a break for God and for yourself!

In Christ,

Pastor Anthony
